COOPERATION BETWEEN RUSSIA AND THE STATES OF CENTRAL ASIA ON STRENGTHENING SECURITY IN THE CENTRAL ASIAN REGION

The article considers the strategic partnership between Russia and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. Russia and the countries of the Central Asian region, being reliable allies and strategic partners, maintain close cooperation both at the bilateral level and within various international and regional organizations such as the United Nations, the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the Commonwealth of Independent States, and the Collective Security Treaty Organization, Conference on Interaction and Confidence building Measures in Asia, and in the Russia — Central Asia format. It is concluded that the partnership relations between Russia and the countries of the Central Asian region meet the national interests of all its participants. Cooperation based on a common historical and civilizational heritage, similarity of socio-economic orientations contributes to strengthening collective security, political and economic stability in the region in response to current geopolitical challenges
