BOARDING SCHOOLS FOR SPANISH CHILDREN IN THE NARKOMPROS SYSTEM (1937-1940)

Abstract

The article deals with the problem of functioning of orphanages for Spanish children in the system of the People's Commissariat of Education. On the basis of documentary materials the Soviet policy towards Spanish children, the peculiarities of their education and upbringing are considered. Special attention is paid to such issues as the number of Spanish orphanages, the peculiarities of the educational process, the pedagogical staff of Spanish schools. Special attention is paid to the work of Spanish teachers. It is concluded that the creation of a closed system of specialized orphanages was slowing down the process of integration of Spanish children into Soviet society
