Abstract
The article traces the history of teaching Russian language and literature in Turkey from 1883 to the present. The subject of the study is the activity of the first teachers of Russian language, as well as the first teaching materials published in Turkey. The establishment of Russian language and literature departments in Turkish universities is traced. Emphasis is placed on the relations established with the Russian Federation after the collapse of the USSR and their role in the teaching of Russian language and literature in Turkish universities. An overview of the teaching of Russian language and literature at the undergraduate level and the modern teaching process is presented
